Day 1 – Arrival
We should be arriving around and cleared customs by 8pm (Thailand time – which is one hour earlier than Singapore’s). Thus after sneaking (I mean checking) into our hotel, we should still have an amount of time for a meal and perhaps some warm-up shopping.
My brother recommended we try e macdonalds samurai pork burgers!!! :D
Day 2 – Dream World
Brief information: Has roller-coasters, paddle boats, stunt shows, go-carts, HAUNTED HOUSE, and an artificial snow house. NO ONE IS TO BACK OUT OF ANY RIDES.
Mon to Fri: 10 am – 5 pm
Public Holidays: 10 am – 7 pm
How to get there:
1. By train- From the Hualamphong train station then get down at Don Mung train station then take Aircondition bus number 538 or get down at Rangsit train station. After take Aircondition bus number 1156.
2. By bus- Take an Air condition bus number 538 at the Victory monument, which is a short distance from our hotel.
3. Or, if we’re lucky, the hotel might have taxi services to bring us there directly, albeit paying a sum of money.
Day 3- Chatuchak / Pat Pong
The best way to get here is on the Skytrain, Mo Chit station N8 (our hotel is near N2), that’s the last station of the northern line, it is only about five minutes walk away from the market. Finding your way from the station is easy - just follow the large crowd of people that will also be heading to/from there. To get a taxi ask for suan jatujak (Chatuchak park, where the market is held), or print out the instructions below and give them to the driver.
Open from 9-10am to abt 6pm on Sat & Sun only. Recommended to go early after your breakfast, try to be there by 9.30am
Regarding Pat Pong, I think the only way to get there is via taxi because it would be late then and train stations would be closed.
Patpong is Bangkok's red light district. Can be a little seedy but it's a great place to look around (don't get distracted though). Got a night market etc. Must go for the bird's nest soup. Very nice :)
Not as notorious as before, it has turned into a street selling T-shirts, souvenirs, fake watches (very real ones too), bags & such. Only good to browse or window-shop. Bargains only if you are keen to buy, don’t ask for fun! People there can be quite mean & unfriendly! They can eat you up alive!
Ben, be careful from being dragged in to patronize the A-Go-Go bar or Strip Tease joint.
Day 4- Chatuchak / Chinatown
Chinatown is not very far from our place. A cab may take us there since no train stations are nearby.

There’s this Shark-fin & bird nest stall just before Watsons (the only Watsons in Yaowarat, right side of the one-way road).
Bird nest:
Try Nam-Sing (loosely translated, Southern Star). A descent looking aircon restaurant, off the main Yaowarat. One of the better & affordable ones in the area. Going for 300-500 baht a bowl.
Fruits:
Do not buy them along the streets, they slaughter tourist!
Day 5- Pattaya
Pattaya is 147 kilometers from Bangkok. If we are taking a taxi there, it would cost us around 850B (or around S$40).

2 hrs of Thai Message: B$400 for walk-in & B$450 for advance booking in a VIP room.Call: 0-2637-8883 for booking. Remember to tip …otherwise you’ll wonder what’s all the fuse & noise while you get out of the place….(they are cursing you lor..)

To get to Ko Laan Beach where all the activities are, we have a few ways.
Regular ferries from Bali Hai Pier (Situated far south Pattaya at the very top of Walking Street. We could take a cab there.) cost 20 baht and take 30-45 minutes.
Departure times:
From Pattaya 07:00, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 15:30, 17:00, 18:30;
From Ko Laan 06:30, 07:30, 09:30, 12:00, 14:00, 17:00, 18:00. Alternatively speedboats can be chartered just about anywhere along the main beaches, typically for 1500-2500 baht; or you can book a day trip via an agency - expect to pay 500-600 baht for minibus collection from your hotel around 09:00, ferry from Bali Hai Pier direct to one of the main beaches (taking about half an hour), lunch, soft drinks, return ferry around 16:00, and minibus back to your hotel.
Tiffany’s Show – 1800? 1930? I don’t know how to book this.
Hard Rock Café is near the pier (see map below).
Day 6- MBK / Siam Square + 四面佛
All in close walking proximity from hotel. I have it marked on the map already. Around 15 to 20 minutes of walking.
Notes:
- Checkout the Food Court on the 6th flr. Need to buy coupons before ordering food. 100 baht per head will feed you extremely well. Remember to surrender balance coupons on the same day for a refund.
Recommended Must Try:
1. Beef Soup with rice or kway-tiao- sold by Thai Chinese
2. Pork Leg Rice- 2 stalls of equally good quality & taste
3. Mangoes or durian with sticky rice- near the dessert stall (very shiok!!!)
4. Pad-Thai – Thai fried rice noodles; available in most stalls.
Remember to munch the bean sprouts & fresh chives as you savor the dish.
5. Spicy Thai Papaya salad – SomTom; look out for stalls with wooden mortar pounding
away. Must ask for “not spicy”, or else you’ll be flying to the moon after the first bite!!!
Their chilli padi is nuclear packed!
6. Typical Thai Ice tea with milk - On the grd flr, nearer to the Hotel entrance. Right in the centre row, 4-5 shops facing each other selling good quality fake branded backpacks, outdoor bags & pouches, going at bargain prices. I prefer the stall nearer to the escalator on my right; run buy a short lady with a young female assistant.
- Wacoal & Triumph Brasserie & underwear, very cheap with lots of design at Tokyu. If out of designs, colors or sizes, go to Central Departmental Store near Chitlom BTS Station.
- Do not buy those little items like incense, ornaments, woodcarvings or cute-cute stuff on the ground floor or the 6th floor. You can get them at wholesale price in Chatuchak Weekend Market.
- By Singapore standard, there’s a pretty good Japanese Restaurant on the 7th flr, Fuji Japanese restaurant. Really value for money !!!!!! (Other branches at Siam Centre and Siam Paragon )
Authentic Thai Food: Ban-Khoon-Mae
Located across the main entrance of Hotel Novotel Siam Square, in Siam Square. Diagonally to the right of the main hotel entrance. Siam Square shopping district is across the street from MBK. On the outside, it looks like a 2 story cottage house. If still cannot find, ask the concierge at Novotel Siam Square. Serve very shiok Green Curry, Fried or steam fish, prawns, papaya salad(Somtom) & the must try Tom-yum Gong. Prices are affordable & reasonable to tourist like us.
Day 7- Last Minute shopping at Siam Square / MBK / MASSAGE / wherever else
As the name implies.
Food in the new Suvarnabhumi Ariport is damn expensive and sucks !!! Better have a full tummy before we check in....
the $$$ changer @ CWP 9(central world plaza) has good rates, their is also a $$$ changer near asia htl that offers the best rate so far in town
